Kingfisher: our luxury widebeam boat was specially built for us in 2008. She holds up to 60 passengers and operates our daytime cruises, special cruises and private hire. To learn more about Kingfisher & her facilities, please click here
 
 
Bookings: In order guarantee seats & avoid disappointment, you MUST book in advance. For payments by telephone & in person, call into our Victoria Court office (usually open 9-5 Mon-Fri, tel: 01524 389410). We accept most types of credit and debit cards.

Group Bookings: We welcome group bookings, large and small. You may book for as many passengers as you wish on any available cruise. Seats will be reserved together for your group. Tel: 01524 389410 for information and to request a booking form. A deposit of £50.00 is required to secure a group booking.

We can cater for groups large and small, and provide you with the perfect day out!
 
Access:
Access to the boat is via a few steps.
Unfortunately the boat does not have wheelchair access, although we can accommodate wheelchair users who can walk short distances, provided that the wheelchair is foldable.
Our friendly crew are happy to help any passengers who require assistance with boarding.
In addition, for anyone who has concerns, we will be happy to show you the boat in advance of your travel date so that you can check whether the access is suitable for your party.

Food & Drink:
Teas, coffees, soft and alcoholic drinks, snacks and souvenirs are available to purchase on board. To view our refreshments list click here.

Souvenirs & Gifts.
Souvenirs can be purchased on board the boats. We can also arrange Gift Vouchers and Experience Days on board the boats. Click the relevant section for further details.
 
Smoking:
We operate a strict no-smoking policy for both interior and exterior spaces of the boat.

Dogs:
Guide dogs and well-behaved dogs travel free.

Concessions & Children:

Under 16s and over 60s travel at the concession rate (available on selected cruises only).

Children under 3 travel may travel free of charge, but must not occupy a seat if there is no spare one available.

Weather:

All services are subject to weather and operational circumstances; please ring 01524 389410 during office hours to check sailings, particularly in the case of forecasted high winds .

Travelling by Car/Parking:

 

Lancaster : the nearest car park for Lancaster departures is The Auction Mart car park situated on Thurnham Street (sat nav postcode LA1 1XU). From the car park, a pedestrian crossing system takes you over the road to the canal & ticket kiosk.
Carnforth: cruises depart from The Canal Turn pub, situated on the A6, next to the BP garage (sat nav postcode LA5 9EA). Parking is not available in the pub car park.
Barton Grange: cruises depart from the marina located next to the garden centre on the A6. Our boat is in marina on right hand side just after the entrance gates.Car and Coach parking is free with flat easy access to the boat.
From north: leave motorway at jct. 33 and take A6 signposted Garstang/Blackpool. continue along A6 for 8 miles, bear right at roundabout into Barton Grange.
From Lancaster: take A6 through Scotforth & pass University & through Galgate. Then continue as above.
From Blackpool area: take M55 to jct 3 at Preston and turn left at end of exit road onto A6 signposted Garstang. Continue along A6 to Bilsborrow until you reach a roundabout into the Barton Grange garden centre.

Booking Information for Rail Days Out
Bookings can be made by telephone to 01524 389410 or by post, or in person to ResiRail, Unit 10, Victoria Court, Penny Street, Lancaster LA1 1XN. Payment can be made by cash, cheque and credit/debit card. Booking forms will be filled in on initial enquiry and will include details of your email address or other means of contact. Confirmation will usually be made within 24 hours of the booking. Cheques can be made payable to ResiRail or Budgie Transport. 
 
Ticketless Travel
Residential Rail tours operate a ticketless system and your access to boarding will be via email or by post. This boarding pass will be accompanied by the final timings and details of the tour.
 
Premier Class
Premier class provides at seat dining with breakfast and dinner usually served during the journey. On some longer routes a mid day lunch will also be served. Accommodation is arranged around tables for four and two in deep cushioned armchairs with lots of room. Tables for two can be guaranteed for an additional charge of £15.00 per person. This option is also available for single passengers if space is available. All passengers will enjoy window seats.
 
 
First Class
Accommodation is arranged around tables for four and two in deep cushioned armchairs with lots of room. Tables for two can be guaranteed for an additional charge of £15.00 per person. This option is also available for single passengers if space is available. All passengers will enjoy window seats.

Standard Class
Seats are arranged in groups of four, around a table. All seats are reserved. There are also a small number of airline style seats which will be allocated once at-table seating is fully booked.  
 
Passengers in Premier, First and Standard classes can bring their own food, picnics and hampers and make the most of the journey. No drink is allowed on board unless purchased at the buffet bar on the train.

Standard Conditions of Booking and Travel
Please pay particular attention to the arrival and departure times as these may vary from those given on the itinaries.
Every effort will be made to ensure that the locomotive, rolling stock, route and timings which are hired in from third parties, will be run as advertised, but the organisers reserve the right to alter these at any time and shall not incur any liability to any person who has bought, or contacted to buy a ticket (boarding pass) or tickets, as a result of any such changes.
On the day of the train, again, all reasonable efforts, within the control of the organisers, will be made to ensure that the train runs as planned but we cannot accept any responsibility for delays, mishaps, alterations or curtailment of the tour from situations outside its control.
The organisers cannot accept responsibility for the options under the control of third parties and are only responsible for returning passengers to their joining stations. Your booking is taken as constituting acceptance of these conditions.
Other than due cancellation by the organisers, no refund is available.
It is regretted that pets cannot be conveyed. On certain trains there will be scope for bike storage please check each individual tour for this relevant information.

Junior tickets (where applicable)
Junior fares cover children aged 5 to 16 years inclusive.

Family tickets (where applicable)

Family fares are based on two adults and two children.
 
Regular boarding pass checks will be made throughout the journey, please ensure that you have all documentation at hand during these checks.
 

Payment by credit card
As from 01.02.09 payment for our day trips using a debit/credit card will be subject to a £1.00 processing charge.
